I read this as moste h1 extensions are being denied, and think to myself, why are we so sruprised. The body shoppers abuse the system for such a long time, they had it coming to them. But so what, people who are being affected by this are the poor consultants themselves, who put all their trust in these body shoppers and in some cases paid high amounts to come to US. BOdy shoppers are not being affected by this in anyways. They should be fined if the US rejects an H1 for illegal hire. I just hope that consultants are given enough time to apply at other places.

I was lucky and I knew what the law stated about my criminal record. In most cases, the appeal will be reviewd the driector of the district. So please dont give up.

So if USCIS takes an year to process my extension, what are the impacts to me after the current H-1B expires? Would I have issues in traveling?
While your H1 is in pending state and you go out of the country, USCIS would consider it as 'abandoned'.

Just got update from my layer that they have received 6 RN's for me and my wife. I filed our AOS on 9th-July-2007 at NSC. My I-140 was filed at NSC last year but it was not approved at the time of my AOS filing. Last week I also got my I-140 approved. I am on EB2.
Wish everybody get their RN's soon.. It should be just matter of days.

I pledged 100 $ today for Aman's expenses because I felt really bad abt that. I donated around 300$ till date including 20$ recurring contribution.
I filed my 485 long time ago. But when people who are really seeing the fruits of IV (July VB reversal) are higly reluctant to donate even a few bucks, while they are spending thousand's of dollars for their 485 stuff, I am kinda confused.
Are people really that selfish not to donate a few bucks(may be 5$per month) to an organization which is making them file 485 and reversed all this fiasco.

It was amazing to see such response to call for funds for Aman and other core members.

It depends on where ur I140 approval came from. What I mean by lag is they receive the application on 1st jun, they are working on assigning the lin # after 6 days. If they were at the same pace they should start working on the new I485 recived on Jun 1st today.

For I-485, took help from local congressman's office in 2007 for name check clearing and security check clearing. They also helped me last month for getting the FP appointment letter for expired FP.

Following is my observation from my last H1B extension from Vermont.
You should be concerned if the extension is not approved before the expiry of the current H1B/I-94. Even if you apply months in advance, USCIS won't approve it till you are near your "old I-94" expiry date.
My H1B has already expired. My only proof of H1B is the receipt of H1B renewal application.

I am seeing that reedandbamboo is considering for EB2 only. We have to include EB3 too for law-suit. I beleive that we will have more than 1000 people if we inlcude all categories.
I will give 200$( 100$ for me and 100 $ for my wife)
Ofcourse all categories are included...EB2/EB3, I/C/ROW...anyone who is unhappy with USCIS random processing and retrogression of the dates is welcome to join the fight.
Whoever thinks they are in: please send ur Name, Ph# and email ID to GCSTATUS or me.
We are not collectiong money yet..just a pledge. As soon as we hit the required # of pledges, then we start the money collection. This will ensure that it is not one those efforts that starts, but gets buried due to people not participating. Most of us filed in July but had our cases transfered to TSC later. For example, I filed July 12 @ NSC and the receipt was generated on Sept 10 from TSC. I know of others with ND Sept 10 @ TSC who didn't receive FP notices, including coworkers of mine. It looks like someone at TSC took a few shortcuts during the receipting process.
My frustration comes from the fact that I've called three times and opened SRs but still nothing. I don't see how someone can honestly screw up three times and fail to schedule a simple FP appointment. If this is such a huge task for them you can imagine how the entire process is handled and why we 're all stuck waiting for name checks, priority dates, processing dates, biometrics appointments, extended reviews, and the rest of the crap...
By now you should have had your EAD and AP in hand - after FP was done. What was the reason for the delay? Most of these cases got FP notices within 4 weeks of Aug 17th.
